Branston is EXACTLY the same!!! The smell of lamb that sends him nuts, he absolutely hates it.

We feed him raw too and have had to give up getting them lamb at all (apart from mince) as he gets in such a state I've never posted on here about it as it just seemed so bizarre and I didn't really know how to explain it!!

As I say we've stopped getting lamb for the dogs but very occasionally we will have lamb chops ourselves and he has the same reaction as soon as the lamb is unwrapped.

He even did it when we were at our friends house a while back and our friend came in with a Donner kebab!! We couldn't wotk out what was wrong with him at first and then we twigged it was the smell of the kebab!

Totally totally bizarre and I've always assumed it must just be him but obviously not!!
so strange im thinking maybe it could be where shes a sheepdog through thier herding/ guarding instincts maybe smells the sheep too much and it scares her i dunno just a wild thought lol

That's what my hubby says too! We don't know what breed Branston is, although it's quite likely he has some border collie thrown into the mix so maybe he thinks he should be herding it rather than eating it!

Very weird though, but the fact there's at least 2 dogs in the world with the same 'problem' there must be a reason for it!

Re: scared of the smell of lamb?

This doesn't help at all... But when I was a child. I Was scared of/had an aversion to the smell of lamb...and I can remember hidiing when we had it for Sunday dinner nd hiding in my room when i was cooking...and just having potatoes and veg for dinner...
Maybe I am a part border collie too?!

Naomi
