Clover was nearly attacked

I was out for a walk, and was on my way home. Clover was near my side, as I was just about to put her lead on her.

This staffy X came running up to her, snarling and trying to bite her. I stood in front of Clover, as she has gone behind me. The owner came up and said sorry, she isn't very friendly with other dogs, and I've come out without her lead!

Re: Clover was nearly attacked

That sounds like a close call. What a stupid woman bringing out a DA dog (or any dog!) without a lead - especially if it runs over to other dogs.

Hope you have recovered!

I would be too; a man used to walk a fairly aggressive lab in the woods where I used to live and used to boast that he didn't even own a lead and never had. Idiots seem to be everywhere .

Glad Clover & you are OK
How irresponsible
People like this are why there is so much anti-dog feeling at the moment

Re: Clover was nearly attacked

Hope your dog is ok!

How on earth can you forget a lead? If you have an aggressive dog they should always be on a lead in my opinion.

I was walking my dogs a few months back (Cavaliers) and this off lead Scotty dog came up to my male Cavalier (who was on a lead) and started sniffing him, then all of a sudden without warning it grabbed my dog by the throat and started shaking him and snarling! The owner just called the dog like nothing had happened and carried on walking without an apology. Luckily it didn't draw blood but my dog was soooo shaken up because he's such a gentle boy, he even lets my 13 wk old puppy push him around! The dog had obviously attacked other dogs before because the owner wasn't at all shocked by what he had seen, so why walk it off lead?

I just don't understand some people.

Glad you and Clover are ok, if a little shaken. How on earth can you take your dog out for a walk and forget its lead especially if it has a tendency to be a bit DA.

Now you're home, sit down, put your feet up & have a cuppa

Re: Clover was nearly attacked

When I had Barney I would forget my lead so often that I lost them but then I almost never used one and he was no intrested in people, animals or anything else but me so was handy

Maya is not the same, i've never forgotten her lead (just her collars once ) as I always need it.

What a stupid woman though pleased you and clover had a lucky escapen
