Dogs at my wedding...

Has anyone else got married in a catholic church and were allowed their dogs to be ring bearers?

Re: Dogs at my wedding...

Didn't get married in a catholic church but I did have Duke there throughout the day. Wouldn't have had it any other way.

He was the best support I could've asked for and he looked so handsome in his tailcoat and matching crevat

It was the only reason I agreed to get married in this country with family was so that Duke could be there.

Re: Dogs at my wedding...

ask the church and see what happens, its the only way

our dogs will be there for our whole day, up setting the in laws to do it but the man said it as more important for the girls to be there than any family who couldnt be bothered to book a flight so thats what wer doing. it a civil ceremony though but at the end of the day it's always just going to be up to person who is in charge of the building

good luck and let us know. remember, God likes animals, he let them on the arch

Absolutely agree with troublestrouble.

Whether you believe in god or not they are gods or natures creation and today they are our family so they have every right to be there on the happiest day of your life

Re: Dogs at my wedding...

I want my dogs to be there, but Benjie would bark, Louie is a bit iffy with a lot of people and they're all the wrong colour (for my dress - wearing white and having a blonde, black and brown dog) no thanks!

I did want Louie to be the ring bearer but then I'd have to find jobs for the other two and Benj would suck as an usher (he'd rid the place of them all) Sadie hasn't mastered throwing petals out of a basket she is holding in her mouth and Louie would more than likely drop the rings half way down the aisle..

But they will be there for the photos.. I couldn't imagine not having them for the photos.

My transport is totally me though (if I can get it set up) , dog rigg with huskies.. can't wait to have photos of that!

I'm sure if you ask your Priest (is it a Priest - I'm not religious enough to know these terms) I'm sure he'd let you just make sure you tell him your dog is well behaved..

I like this thinking, I'll remember this for if any one decides to make an honest woman of me! Prince would match my dress anyway and he could be my something old since he'll probably be ancient by the time I get married
