We have fallen out

Alfie is getting a little frustrated, even though I'm trying to give him good walks
This blooming snow and ice is so dangerous to him one slip on ice or twist on a hard piece of snow could see him confined to barracks for days.
I'm therefore being uber careful.
Met a little terrier this afternoon that really wanted to play, Alfie did also and he was the type of dog I'd normally let Alfie have a little skitter with.
Couldn't though and he seemed to go into a total strop, we just weren't gelling at all for the rest of the walk and he behaved like a complete brat

Glad to say that we are ok now after a cuddle on the sofa

How many of you have those days when you and your dog just aren't on the same wavelength?

Re: We have fallen out

Boo is never on my wavelength...deliberately so I have now tagged her with a Loc8tor tag to track her down when she decides to have 'selective hearing' problems! She hasn't worked out yet how I manage to sneak up on her when she thinks she is well hidden whilst she eats my plants!

Re: We have fallen out

Sorry but me and my lot are pretty much always on the same wavelength!!
I like to give cuddles...they like to receive cuddles! Simples..

Luckily mine dont mind a couple of half hour walks rather then an hour or two when its icy. Im not bothered mine would fall and hurt themselves but I wont risk that their clumsy great moo of an owner will slip and fall on them!

Re: We have fallen out

You're right to be cautious with him though - glad you made up

Came in from work today and Zipper has been really 'barky' - no idea what he wanted - so I wasn't talking to him until he settled, which seemed to take forever - he did eventually settle and we've had some lovely cuddles

Re: We have fallen out

We are never on the same wavelength as these two mostly because balls just aren't my thing.

Duke and I often fall out but that's usually if he's hogging the bed or settee.

Clover and I fall out over things like barking when out walking, please recall when there's dogs and giggle wiggle...aka mum needs to sleep not play bowling alley over mum's back

Re: We have fallen out

I'm having the same trouble with Quiver and for the same reasons.

If I take the other three without her, she goes into one - if I take her but keep her on the lead, she goes into one - if I let her off the lead she picks up a toy and if I won't throw it, she goes into one.

You just can't win can you and I only have her best interests at heart. I'm so frightened that she's going to hurt herself on the hard and slippery ground.
