Re: Do people still do this?

I grew up being shown puppies needed to have their noses rubbed in it and scolded... then placed on newspaper and praised. Or if they did the mess on paper, praise immediately. Once old enough to go outside, same applied but with outdoors, not paper.
It worked really well and puppies would instantly use paper or go outside. Toilet training didnt take long, a matter of days rather than months.
But I dont agree with the method and I used the cue word method with Sailor, which took awhile, but now his an adult, I am soo glad I went with it, as he will go outside and toilet on command.

In the cold, he will run into the garden for his morning wee and not do anything, run straight back in pretending he has done something . But if I stand at the door and say, did you wee wee? GO WEE WEE! he will look at me then run back outside, do a quick pee and come back in wagging his body for being good
