Talking Inspired by Dogless

After seeing the hill walk Dogless did yesterday I decided to conquer my nemisis hill,Criffel. It's not that big,but it is steep and I have been up it twice before the last time was 2006.
As some of you may know I have Rhumatoid arthritis and because of that I don't 'do' hills even though I love hill walking.
But I wanted to give it a go.
Well we only managed to get half way up as the ground was too icy and it was too dangerous.
But I will have another go when the weather gets better.
Criffel

Going up.

View from where we turned round,I was parked by the loch in the bottom

Going down

I was trying to get a shot of me and the dogs, when Flint jumped up and surprised me.

And a video of Craven cooling down.(no sound)

Don't think I've ever inspired anyone before .

Beautiful photos and I am sure you'll get up to the top next time . The hounds look as if they loved it!

Have you walked on the Luneburger Heide near Walsrode? Used to go there quite a lot...went on tons of nice walks, but forget where most of them are now . There were plenty out of the back gate and through the woods past the war memorial and onto the ranges, but I am sure you know that area pretty well by now!!

Gorgeous Photos.. look at the view from half way up. I love seeing lots of sky...kind of feels a little like flying without leaving the ground. The boys look like they had fun too

Well done for getting as far up as you did, on such an icey dicey day

Actually, I don't know the area at all I avoided anywhere like woods or fields with Rupert being so aggressive. I'll have to go exploring with Spencer, we live on an estate near the back gate and I think I know the woods you mean.

Think Walsrode is too far with me being unable to drive.

Sorry; forgot you couldn't drive . The woods are pretty much opposite the back gate - there is a sign to the war memorial and plenty of paths that pass it - if you carry on going it brings you out onto big, open areas, fields and some more woodland. You can walk for hours and rarely meet anyone. Just keep an eye on the range barriers at various points and if they are closed don't go round them! .
