Bella appears to have her Beagle back!!

As some of you may know our adorable Beagle pup Bella has been very poorly for a few months now But I am delighted to say that over the last week she has been getting so much better every day that she is now nearly back to her old self

However the downside to this recovery is that no clothing or footwear appears to be safe in our house anymore...

Yesterday afternoon before I went to collect the kids from school I put a load of washing in the machine. When I returned from school with said children, we walked into the kitchen to find the entire load of dirty washing on the floor! (I thought the machine door had clicked closed - I can only assume I was wrong!) Not only that but the clever little pooch had got a matching pair of my husbands socks from the scattered array of clothing on the floor and promtly eaten half of one sock and two thirds of the other..eek: (at least they were a pair I hear you say...? How did she know???)

The last night while I was putting the kids in bed she was once again in the kitchen (with an empty washing machine) and she manage to get my sons school bag off the peg, UN-ZIP it, remove one of his school shoes and eat the velcro strap off the top

Now, I have just come back from the shops this morning and Bella is in her bed with my UGG's that I know were in the pantry with the door closedconfused:........................ .....thankfully she was only cuddling them

So advice please.................how do you tell a dog, you love to the ends of the earth, off when she has been so poorly she nearly died (numerous times) and that your glad appears to have got her Beagle back???

Ahh glad she's getting better hopefully it won't be too long now before you can get her back into a good exercise rountine. In the meantime maybe some new toys might be in order? And a good hiding place for your prized possessions!

So glad she is back to her mischievious self,no advice on how to tell her off,I am a sucker for floppy ears and sad eyes,Alf gets me everytimeas Galadriel17 suggested some new toys as a distraction and lock everything away!! Once she starts getting plenty of exercise she should be too tired to get up to anything, but then again she will be a teenager soon

Re: Bella appears to have her Beagle back!!

Awe thanks guys......It's only really supposed to be a fun post so everyone can (hopefully) laugh along with me at how wicked Bella is being.....we are just so happy to have her back to near her old self, she would be allowed to chew anything for the next 6 months!!

She does have a whole box full of new toys - (when she was ill in the doggie hospital I threw anything I would'nt boil wash away and bought her all new stuff as I was so scared of the meningitis coming back).....I think like you say, once we can up her excersise things will get better - but once agian we're wary off pushing her too hard and risking another relapse. So for now like Galadriel says we sill just have to find better hiding places for all our stuff.....

Re: Bella appears to have her Beagle back!!

Yay, Bella's getting her Beagle bounce back or should it be - now the fun begins haha.

So pleased she is definitely on the mend and getting up to monkey mischief. Must be a Beagle trait with the socks and the washing machine - I can't open the washer door when Harvey's around or his head is soon stuck inside having a look to see what he can steal
