obv not saying youa re like that at all, but that is what put me off.
Unfortunately you do find that in some teams and it's not nice.

We left the last team because they didn't want to upset a man running a 10year old dog who has arthritis and lies down when she comes over the last jump and he insists upon her running as last dog rather than run Duke who I admit isn't the fastest boy but is younger and come the afternoon puts his heart and soul into it. The worst thing was that the last competition we did we were there for 7am in the morning it was our wedding anniversary and Duke only got to run three times all day and that wasn't three races either.
I wouldn't have mind if the team had been winning but they lost nearly all there races...oh well...onwards and upwards.

All we want is for people to come enjoy themselves running their dogs have a natter and go home with happy tired content dogs

Videos and photos are on the page so have a good nose if you want especially of our Clover fully enjoying herself

The Nuneatonians
I thought Clover would but she's getting really into it but that's because she can run round with the ball when she comes out of the netting

They've been to Crufts haven't they?

Don't think I've raced them.

if you share on facebook it just goes out to your facebook friends which is great but i cant find you under searching longton flyball at all

if you go on your flyball page on facebook, then double click in your address bar in the top right, that will highlight all your address up that there , right click and choose copy, then come over here and press paste
that might get us there

Re: Please support our flyball team!

I wish we lived closer cos I would love to get Willow into Flyball but it is something we have never done before. Do they have to have had some kind of training before they can join? I would be scared of taking her to a cliquey club and getting looked down on because she didn't have a clue what to do - I can imagine some embarrassing runs with her where she goes awol off the course & goes noseying at the other dogs or worse still, she'll think it's a chase game & chase the other dogs instead of trying to get the ball

I think I might try to find somewhere locally where I can perhaps go & watch them train to find out whether it would be suitable for her.

Re: Please support our flyball team!

Welcome to Facebook

Ok Babysham and TashaX done something so hope it works this time.

Or put it in as Longton Flyball.

No training is needed before hand you just go along and the trainers will show you or talk you through everything.

You never need to be scared of the dog running off as there's netting around the lane so they can't run off well that's for starter dogs so never fear.
We encourage our dogs to get to know one another and bond as they are afterall in a team and it's always good for the owners aswell.

Definitely go and have a look but don't be worried or put off if you find that the dogs are behaving it's probably a one off...hmm...or that just might be my Duke that does what he likes

Hey you can always try no harm in it you'd be surprised.

We had a dog that was never in to balls only playing with her sister but some one on one time and my husband has got her taking the ball (not yet out of the box but triggering it) and running back and has started doing no nets and running with the other dogs she's really come on. According to her owner she has also started going and playing with a ball on her own at home.

Re: Please support our flyball team!

I would urge anyone to give this a go if they're even thinking about it - we'd come if we were near!!

We started last week, and Rosie didn't seem too keen but Ringo loved it!! I know someone who does competitions and it does seem a little cut-throat and taken rather seriously - past a "healthy competition" sort of way...but we've just joined a club for fun and it was great!!

We're going again, going to see if Rosie changes her mind when it's more familiar but if now we'll just take the little one. He really did find it so fun - and I really loved seeing him enjoying himself so much!!

Hope you get lots of people in your team!!
Naomi x
