Dog Chews

Anyone know what the stick type dog chews consist of
as they look like compressed cardboard or wood shavings to me.

Usually cost about £2.00p. per 100 Pkt.

Question, are they fattening, also how many can I give to my Scottie Maisie
per day without any adverse effects,
she absolutely adores them.

At the moment she only has one, two if she's lucky
if it was left to her she would enjoy the 100.

Harry.

Harry.
My old lab did exactly that once opened the cupboard when I went out and ate the other 99 out the packet.
His poo was green! And he pooed all over his bed and mine (I was on the floor) during the night.

So don't let her eat too many

Re: Dog Chews

Hmmm, deja vu!
I thought you already did this thread? (coz I remember answering on it!!LOL) I still think those chews are kinda cheap and nasty TBH, much prefer more natural ones.

Re: Dog Chews

Hi', catz4m8z,

Sorry I cannot recollect posting previously on this subject ?
must be having one of my senior moments again
getting a bit too frequent for my liking.

Have to get Maisie to do her own posts.

Incidentally the chews I am referring to are the plain coarse grained type
not Rawhide, as she only throws those about.

Harry.

Re: Dog Chews

If you mean the ones that come in allsorts of bright colours like red and bright green as well as the "natural" colours then they are reconstituted bits of hide I think.

If you get the coloured ones, I should imagine theres a possibility thats artificial colouring too.

Re: Dog Chews

Purple ones cause bright green poo... caused me quite a bit of concern until I figured it out. Don't feed them any more as a result.

Re: Dog Chews

Sled Dog Hotel,

Those are the chews as you describe.
I try to purchase the natural coloured ones when I can.
Maisies No. 1 favourites. Lol. more is never enough.

Harry.
