Re: Some People!

I think the only place I have not scooped is when Max used to go under a gorse bush where I couldn't get it without a saw and heavy canvas clothing

otherwise I have tramped across fields, into a marsh, up banks, into hedges...

it's my dog creating mess so I'm cleaning up after it *shrug*

can understand the *panic, flail, throw* though as I'd probably do it - it's a rather unpleasent shock

Lol, I was gonna say the same thing. Shadow used to seek out the thickest clump of brambles or nettles he could find to poo in. I figured anyone going in there had more important things to worry about than stepping in dog mess! I pick up any poo I don't need special equipment to safely get to though. I used to take a torch out with me so I could see to pick up after Rupert. I've also had some disappear into thin air though. One minute it's there, by the time I've gotten the bag out of my pocket it's gone!

If I picked up a piece of paper in my garden and it was covered in poo I'd probably fling it too, it would just be an automatic reaction to go "EEEEWWWW!" and toss it away from me!

Re: Some People!

Yeah I just automatically threw it before it stopped being stuck to the paper and fell on my shoe or something XD it was also as I said "I hope to be dog poo" but for a second I panicked that it was human XD haha so I just flung it, I would have had to have took it into my house to take it to the bin on the other side and that wasn't a thought that crossed my mind in the first second of realisation! XD

Re: Some People!

We have a field/woodland area out the back of our house and we had dog poo bins out there as everyday people walk their dogs out there, anyway we 'had' poo bins until kids thought it'd be fun the open the bins and take out the filled poo bags & fling them over our gardens!! Now for one thing, WHY?? Why would anyone want to touch filled poo bags!? Its bad enough having to pick up after your dog but we all pick up as part of being a good owner but I know I wouldn't want to open a poo bin and touch anything in there!! yuk!

So, the only thing thats been done now is the poo bins were removed!! so now most people don't bother picking up at all so if we walk out there with Cookie, it's a dodge the poo game!!!

We've got actually quite a lot in our area, near fields and also in the streets! I think I counted about 6 in.... half a mile radius? lol But some are better than others. The ones I like are the ones that are like ladies sanitary bins. You lift up the lid and there's a > shape too it so (in my view) if the wind blows the lid up then no bags are going to blow out, it also means, like with your case, noone would be able to get their hands in to pick out any bags.
Others are just like a light weight normal bin lid and these get blown up in high winds. These are normally the ones that are near the fields and get used a lot so are often full... and I always think that it's stupid as the bags might blow out.

I suppose we are lucky to have as many as we do as other people have near to none. But that's because we live in such a rural area with lots of villages and public pathways. We're also near the national trust places so they have to provide these things as well! We always plot our route around where we know a bin is XD haha
