JayJay

Some of you may remember my thread a few weeks ago about finding a lost dog... I don't know if I mentioned his name was jayjay, but it is lol..
Well.. today, I took Molly for her a walk, to the same place I found Jayjay those weeks ago...
And what did I see? A little dog running towards me, and I thought to myself.. I recognize that dog!! And I was right, it was him!!
I picked him up, and carried him to the old ladies house, luckily I remembered where she lived!!
She saw me through the window and signled to me to come round the back, and she was so gratefull.. I told her it was me who had found him a few weeks ago, and we had a nice chat for a bit Then she said she would find her purse and give me some money, and after me saying about 6 times that I didn't want it, she made me take it.. I feel so bad for taking it from her, I feel like iv robbed her or something
But she is lovely, and she said she would love to see me again, so im going to see her sometime in the week, she told me not to bother knocking on the door, just go straight round to the back

I feel so bad for her, she has a cat flap for him, which she blocks, but he manages to move it out the way, and then jump up and open the gate... He got out last week as well apparently

Re: JayJay

Aww that was nice of her!

Maybe you could find something that will stop Jayjay from being able to open the gate? Like a different latch or something?

Nice that you are going round to see her

Re: JayJay

Yeah, I would like to be able to help, but the thing is, she can't walk very well, so can't get to the door when people come round, so everyone uses the back gate, so she needs a gate which can be easily opened from the outside, so any ideas would be very much welcomed!

Re: JayJay

Well done for helping this lady with her dog, she sounds like a really nice person aswell. If you still don't want the money she gave you maybe buy a cheap lockable cat flap or a cheap slide bolt

Re: JayJay

Erm, its hard to explain, so i got a picture, its sort of like the one in the pic, except the thing you push down to open it is on the outside so people can open it to get in, and he manges to somehow jump up and open the lock from the inside...
And, I didn't ask, but he looks like a yorkie, but he's really big, so I think he may be crossed with something.

This lock is pretty much the same expect the handle is differnt, It would be a lot harder for a dog to figure out since you have to turn the handle and not push it down HEAVY DUTY BLACK TWISTED RING GATE or DOOR LATCH HANDLE NEW | eBay

Re: JayJay

Thanks for that I shall ask her if she would let me get a new lock for the gate when I go round She should do, she needs to do something to stop him getting out
He doesn't push down on the lock tho, cuz thats on the outside, he manages to push the lock hatch thing on the other side up
