Angry So angry!!

I don't know if I am over reacting, but I am so annoyed right now!!
I live with my MIL, and tbh, I cant wait to move out!!

Molly is a very excitable dog, and she loves running round and round and playing with my MIL's dog...
Now my MIL is ALWAYS shouting at molly because she is running around to much!! When ever molly is playing or jumping around happily, MIL is always there shouting at her and telling her to pack it in.
Im SICK of it tbh.. She's my dog, if she's doing something wrong, I will be the one to tell her off, but she is getting told of and shouted at for NOTHING. And she always looks so sad when she gets shouted at, and she looks at me like, what have I done wrong now? Its really starting to get on my last nerve... Its got to the point were I don't let Molly in a room if MIL is in there as I know she will just get shouted at

Re: So angry!!

While I don't think MIL should shout at your dog, it is her house and she obviously doesn't like having an excitable dog around.
You are right it is up to you to deal with your own dog, so knowing that MIL doesn't like it, why can't you make sure all is calm when she is around?

I know it would be difficult 24/7 but rather than letting the situation continue, you could try taking control.
Dogless, lucylastic and rottie like this.

Re: So angry!!

Living with your mother in law is bound to be a potentially awkward situation. Where there must be understanding and consideration given on both sides.

I am in no way criticising you and simply asking are you exercising Molly sufficently mentally as well as physically. It's not fair on Molly to be shouted at or good for her to be honest, hand on heart are you doing all you can to prevent her being in this situation.

If you can see molly Molly becoming excited could you take her elsewhere in the house/ garden and play a game or do some training.
Dogless and beris like this.

Re: So angry!!

To be fair you are living in her house (well thats what it sounds like)- and sounds like your dog could do with toning it down a bit indoors- just because she is small does not mean she should be allowed to be OTT all the time, it would probably get on my wick if someone elses dogs was constantly running round.
