Breeze has been with us just over 2 years now, time certainly does fly! We rehomed her from a "dog breeder" I worked for for about 6 months; the kennels were very much going downhill in terms of both boarding and breeding due to the owner's deteriorating health and debt. Not a nice lady but a friend of mine worked there and as it looked fairly dire I agreed to work there until the licenses ran out and the place closed. As horrid as the kennels were I've got some happy memories of the dogs, bless their hearts.
Breeze was one of the breeding dogs, the only Lab living with several BC's and a couple of Cockers.
Was looking through some unsorted photos of the dogs and came across these gems.
Breeze's first walk with Scooter (excuse my hat hair!):

This was a couple of days after her last puppy left, look at that saggy tummy! Considering she rarely left the kennel's land and it was the first time she met the rest of my family she was a brave girl
One of her pups with my sister:

I
think this was the male pup at about 7weeks old, dad was one of the BC's (apparently it was an "accidental" mating but knowing the owner I'm not convinced...).
Some photos of her first night. Very unsure of herself and snapped at Scooter a couple of times but not
frightened. I think the look on Scoo's face says it all about what he thought to the new addition!

Giving her a horrified stare.

Still horrified (look at her belly!)

"Fine then!"
She was scared of her bed and would either try to squish in with Scooter or curl up on the doormat for several weeks until she realised that her bed wasn't going to eat her, she always used to share with another dog or two.
The first time she stretched out to sleep, previously she would hide behind the sofa and curl up into the tiniest ball imaginable:
Her ears were permanently pinned down and she carried her tail low for a very long time, except for when she was fed. Very un-confident but wasn't aggressive in the slightest. She was
terrified of my dad getting too close and bolted if he was wearing boots or carrying a broom, she's been treated badly somewhere along the line
She's still a little unsure in new situations and her noise phobia can be a worry but she's come on in leaps and bounds!
Smiling with my sister and an old kennel-mate who went to live with my Grandma:
Another with Faye:
Asking for a tummy rub:
On patrol with Scooter:
This is my most recent photo, perfectly chilled out on Christmas Day and settled for a nap!
Rehoming her was the best decision I've ever made (wasn't hard to convince the parents either, everyone seems to fall in love with her!) and I can't imagine not having her around.
The biggest downside is that I've got two dogs to miss while I'm at uni instead of one!
