Re: Yorkie puppy

Can you feel her ribs easily with very light pressure?

Re: Yorkie puppy

Cant feel her ribs easily with a slight touch so im guessing shes a bit overweight and she has been to the vets each week for various reasons, first week was for a vet check after purchasing her second week was because she was constipated and the 3rd week was for her vaccine.

Re: Yorkie puppy

If she's happy and healthy, you can feel her ribs and the Vet hasn't shown any concern then I'd say she's OK.

Congratulations on your new family member

Re: Yorkie puppy

Congratulations on getting a yorkie. My favourite breed. She sounds as though she is thriving. Plenty of exercise will do the trick.nkeep an eye on her teeth though as yorkies are prone to plaque.

Re: Yorkie puppy

That is a fair bit of weight gain- was she underweight when you purchased her? Did the mom and rest of the litter look/feel the same as her?
Here is the link to a pretty reliable YT growth chart- YorkieInfoCenter | Yorkshire Terrier Growth Chart. although remember that every puppy is quite different, and these charts are only guides!
But I agree with fleur- the vet would surely have said something if at any time she didn't seem healthy (or rather they should have!)

Got any pictures of the baby!?
finoni9 and trixiemixy like this.

Re: Yorkie puppy

She was a bit underweight when i got her as i could feel her spine a ribs alot and the other puppies were all similar in size, her mummy was quite thin too, the vet has not said anything about her weight gain its friends that have said its alot of weight to put on in 3 weeks, she seems contented and happy and she is a good little eater so im glad for that, i know some puppiesdont each much and that would worry me more, thank u guys when i get someone to show me how i will put her pictures up, thanks again
