What puppy?

Me and my boyfriend are going to get a puppy in the summer (I'm a student so will be able to spend a good couple of months at home with it) but we need some advice on what to go for.
He works full time 7:30 - 3:45 Monday to Friday and I am a student who also works...however he only works down the road so will be coming home at lunchtime each day and I work evenings/weekends so I will also be there during the day. That said, the dog will be left for a few hours each day so we need a breed that will be OK with that.
I used to have an English Bull Terrier crossed with an American Bulldog...he was the most placid dog ever who just slept all day, whether I was there or not! But we can't get such a big dog (he was the size of an American Bulldog) this time. Does anyone have any advice on what we could go for?
I would really love an English Bull Terrier, but my boyfriend wants a Boston Terrier, however I've read that they are prone to separation anxiety.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: What puppy?

you should do as much research as you can into different breeds that you like.

i have a boston terrier and they are very much companion dogs. not really a breed i would leave alone all day. there is pretty much always someone in my house, so it suits her fine.
also if you were to consider getting one, they are quite few and far between from a good breeder. they arent the healthiest of breeds, so its really important to find a breeder who health tests. (not a vet check, proper specific tests for the breed)

I will do thanks Good can't wait to see them, you don't see many Boston's on here or even around sadly. I've only ever met them at Crufts.
