Glow in the Dark Dog Tags

After my epic fail with glow in the dark dog collars (they stopped making the material just after I got my hands on some ) I've been looking around trying to find something else that is 'glow in the dark' so I can see the dogs better at night. Cooper is already hi vized up like a xmas tree but I struggle with Harry as he is likely to get caught on a tree or fence somewhere with more layers on.

I made them both some glow in the dark tags to see how they worked. They have been wearing them for about a month now and Harry has throughly Spaniel tested it and it has lived to tell the tale (he's managed to rip a rivet off his collar crashing through the undergrowth and the tag was still on his collar) so I am suitably impressed with it.

Theres a bit too much light pollution where I walk the dogs mostly at the moment to have any real use, but it's fab for at night in the house when someone is making throwing up noises!

They are pretty cheap to make as well, as I've looked around at other tags but they tend to be quite expensive and at the rate Harry can loose tags I didn't want to spend a fortune on them.

and 'glowing'

Lightbulb

I'm looking at some flashing LEDs mounted on a harness, if you are going for something visible at night it may as well be bright. A combination of reflective and light emitting is best I think.

Re: Glow in the Dark Dog Tags

Anything mounted on a harness would stand a chance with my Springer, which is why something collar based is better for him.

Also led's run out of power and are quite pricey to replace, these tags work out very economical.

Re: Glow in the Dark Dog Tags

I bought a so called 'glow in the dark' tag off ebay a few weeks back for the same reason, with two black labs it's hard seeing them even on the lit up fields so needed something. Yeah there really nice, bright orange but they do not glow in the dark like it said so wasn't impressed. Your's seem great and work perfect!

So now, today there flashing collars arrived so hopefully they'll work.
