Question puppy wimpering after barking

can anyone help me on this, she is a 7mth old rottie, not sure if she scares herself with the barking. My other rottie never did anything like this.

Is it sheer excitement? When Kilo barks and I ask him to be quiet or stops barking by himself he will often make a few whines and whistles as if he is fighting the urge to bark again.

My dog does this too, and sometimes she'll whimper when she wants to bark but knows she's not allowed (e.g. at the cat )
