I never had Rupert get stuck (not because of his muzzle anyway, him sticking his head through railings was another matter!) and he'd be in the undergrowth tearing around. He did pick up the odd stick, the tip wedged into one of the gaps but that was rare.

Believe it or not, snow was the biggest problem as when he was sniffing around it would all compact in the gaps in the muzzle and I'd be forever calling him back, taking it off and banging it against something to get the snow out.

Looking around local shops is probably your best bet, they may let you try different ones on to see which fits best. That's how we got the right size for Rupert

ah Max got caught up several times in heather/gorse and once actually snapped the muzzle (someone was lacing the walks with Strychnine which is why he was wearing one)

maybe varies on size of dog and just their movement/nature?
