What Size Kong?

Looking at getting the black extreme Kong for Sammy and Lucky. Does anyone on here use these and if so what size for a largish 40Kg Akita and 33Kg AmBull?

I was going to order the King size (15cm) are these too big or will they be ok?

Thanks guys

Re: What Size Kong?

What a lovely thread.

I have a 48 kg. Rottweiler and he loves his Kong. It is an orange one and measures 9 cm x 13 cm - large diameter and length. Don`t know what size that is in the Kong range, but it is quite big enough for him.

We have a daily "Kong" session about 11.00 in the morning where I stuff some goodies up the hole and he spends an enjoyable 5-8 minutes getting them out. I get the Kong eye-balling from 10.30 onwards.

A Kong is a fantastic toy for big dogs that destroy every other toy you can find. Short of a waste tractor tyre, the Kong is superb. They are indestructible. Chimps have them and if they cannot destroy them, then nothing can.

YES - go for a Kong, but do not get one too small or too big. Mine is fine and I would think your dogs being no stronger than a Rottweiler will find the size I have just terrific.

Personal choice - I feel that orange is a more attractive to animals than black. Usually, animals like bright colours. My previous dog, a big GS had an orange and black Kong, but never touched the black one.
