CKD1 will become famous soon enough
Re: my dog doesnt listen

Teach him to chew his toys instead. When he's chewing things he shouldn't tell him no and give him his toys to chew.

Re: my dog doesnt listen

sorry, don't have time to write a long post - on my way to work.

It is always easier to tell a dog to do something than to tell it not to.

Make sure you have plenty things that your dog is allowed to play with/chew on/rip to shreds and direct it's attention onto these things if it looks at anything you don't want damaged.

Only let your dog be round your things when you are there to supervise or it will learn that chewing them is fun - you can't control what a puppy does when you are not there until it has learned the ground rules when you are there.

"NO" is not a good way of stopping unwanted behaviour - "come", "sit", "fetch" etc are - if your dog is doing something you've told it to do - it can't at the same time be doing something it is not allowed - and instead of being told off - it is being praised and learning what makes you (and it) happy.

Re: my dog doesnt listen

can only repeat what has already been said.

of course he's chewing, he's teething, give him some things he can chew, and a nice range of textures, that'l keep him entertained. be persistent, the worst of it should be over in 2 months time

Re: my dog doesnt listen

As what others have said, say NO and give him something he can chew. I recommend a Puppy Kong

Re: my dog doesnt listen

I would say that he isn't 'not listening' but rather doesn't understand that chewing is wrong, just from the way your post is written , as others have said try to channel his biting into the right things like toys and he should soon get the hang of it ,

good luck

I have to agree, I def recommend a Kong, we have a large black one for Cookie, I always stuff biscuits and bits of cheese in hers before I go out, keeps her amused

Re: my dog doesnt listen

Get him a Kong and stuff it. They make fillers, all sorts of meaty ones, or some use peanut butter. Even better if frozen. It should keep him happy for ages. Also get some of those filled, sterilised marrow bones they sell in pet shops.

Move anything you don't want chewed. If he eats something he shouldn't, it is not good blaming the dog.

As said, if he is chewing the furniture, swap it for something of his own.
