Unhappy Blue's poorly :( Need your advice please

Blue wasnt very well today, i was at work and got a phone call from my mum saying Blue had the runs which she described as black and 'looked like oil' and the smell was terrible. She had been taken out 15 mins prior to this and everything was fine and normal. She was fine when i left this morning and her toilets were as they had always been. I came home and she seemed happy in herself, playing with her toys and being her normal self. I took her out but she only had a wee. I popped out to get some shopping so i put her in her crate, when i came back it looked like she had been sick, probably just yellow bile and it was all over the side of her face and chest fur i took her to the vets (didnt make an appointment, just popped up to chat about it and get her weighed and worm tablet) she said to keep an eye on her over night, if shes still the same or worse then make an appointment and get her checked.
She seems fine in herself, but i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions what it could be? And i wasnt going to feed her tonight incase it upset her tummy even more, what do you think? I dont want to do anything and get it wrong (hence why im asking all you wise and wonderful people) I will update on how she is later, but for now she needs a bath because she has sick all in her fur My poor floofy baby

Really dark stool is usually a sign of blood- as it is dark though it will have come from high up in the intestinal tract and been digested.

Could also be a million other things though Im sure, hope she feels better soon.

Oh no... poor Blu.

I think there has been a tummy bug going around... but don't know which areas. Some other members may be able to help.

Re: Blue's poorly :( Need your advice please

oh yeah, theres been a few dogs where i work who have been ill (this was a few weeks ago) they picked up in a day or so. She wasnt happy about the bath, but is now happily sat with beamer being her normal self.

Can i have any advice on whether to feed her or not? She was going to have chicken carcass but i got a feeling she may be happier and more comfortable without a full stomach if shes feeling poorly

maybe some boiled rice with chicken or boneless fish. it's what I would do....

But starving her would also not be a bad idea... but personally I'd go with a small amount of something bland

Poor Blue I'd do the same as NellyBelly suggests about the food. I hope she's feeling happier soon.

Eeeek, If she hasn't eaten all day I would just give her a little cooked chicken or scrambled egg, I would omit the rice, if she isn't any better I would be down the vets. Hope she is better tonight. Muffin sends licks.

Poor baby, she seemed fine yesterday when we went out! Phoebe sends cuddles and kisses.

Let me know how she is and if you need anything then text me/come over and throw stones at my window.

(I have no idea why I'm not texting you instead of posting this, I'll be honest.)

Re: Blue's poorly :( Need your advice please

I don't feed for 24-48 hours after a bout of the runs and then give a little plain boiled rice and cooked chicken.

I think that might be too long for a pup though so how about you don't feed her tonight and then give her something bland mid morning tomorrow?
