Smile A brilliant game with a twist

We've just returned from a lovely walk and today went to the local woods were a twelve foot wide solid bridge goes over a stream. In the past I've played poo sticks there with my other half so I wondered if Honey and I could do something similar, especially as there was no one else around for once. Well I got two sticks the same size, one green and one stick coloured and Honey choose the green one. I threw them into the stream together and she watched intently as they disappeared underneath us and then we went across to the other side and she patiently waited for them to appear. She seemed to know that they would. The green one came out first so she won. She also won the next two goes and I'm sure she was cheating. Anyway she thought it was an excellent game and was getting quite excited waiting, although she stayed sitting nicely beside me.

In the middle of this a fellow dog walker came along and asked me what I was doing so I told her. She made a gesture to indicate she thought I was completely mad.

Am I the only slightly crazy person who has taught their dog a game that was not originally intended for dogs?

Think that's lovely, dogs are much brighter than we give them credit for.

Re: A brilliant game with a twist

Nope, but it's nice to be a little crazy, especially if your dog enjoys it

Alfie used to like dancing with me when I had music on. Had to stop though when he hurt his leg

Re: A brilliant game with a twist

Thanks for your replies everyone, you've all made me feel slightly better. I suppose it must have looked quite odd seeing this slightly strange person and her dog both hanging over the bridge staring intently at the water then rushing across to the other side and doing the same.
