Went on a walk that encompasses a quite busy bridleway on the outskirts of town.

Just joining said bridleway and two young girls are going passed on their ponies, Alf and I saunter out behind them. Behind I can hear this woman telling her dog to stop pulling, turns around and there is this lovely little Staffy dragging it's owner along.
Anyway keeps walking and ponies are getting farther infront with a guy and Collies coming toward us.
All is peace and tranquility THEN WOOSH Staffy bombs past myself the guy with the collie and ends up 200 yds ahead snapping at ponies heels

Oh dear, how did the ponies react?

That could have ended so much worse Glad the ponies were obviously used to dogs as I dread to think what could have happened. Why are some people so devoid of common sense?

That could have ended really badly, I don't think if I started riding again properly I'd enjoy going on a hack as people don't seem to be horse savvy at all these days

I must admit to being shocked at just how many horse riders when passing my boy standing on the side of the path, say that it is a pleasure to see such a well behaved dog
I've asked several if they get much trouble from dogs and every single one has said that they have actually had dogs jumping up at them
I simple don't get it, if you are on a bridleway and your dog isn't settled with horses, keep little fido on lead

Luckily it was very obvious that the dog wasn't aggressive, just ubber excited

If The Dog got kicked by a pony the dog owner would have blamed the rider.
