Saw this little Staffy again

This time it was running around a wood on the side of a busy A road chasing a deer. Owners not in sight or hearing

Went zooming past twice before we even heard the owner, two women strolling along chatting

Told them the dog had passed us heading for the road.
Reply, oh yes he's been round the whole wood 3 times so far

The owner needs reporting to the dog warden before a serious accident occurs.

If I bumped into them regularly or even had any idea where they came from I would.

Thankfully my horse is a saint with dogs BUT something running up behind him at speed could easily cause him to take off, when I see strange dogs out hacking if they are unsure of him I always talk to them, I figure that if they work out horse + human=funny looking human then they’ll give us less bother. The thought of a nip to a tendon does terrify me, that’s bullet material in many cases, an infection in the tendon sheath is an owners worst nightmare.

I'm always polite on horseback or bikeback.

To be fair to a lot of cyclists they also get a hard time from dogs, I've seen them being chased by 2 massive German Shepherds, 3 Greyhounds going full pelt, and me and my dad were chased by a territorial Border Terrier and JRT.
