Unhappy Do dogs have off days?

Clover has been a little sh!t today quite honestly Barking at everyone and everything both in the house and out on walks. She hasn't been like this for a long time.

Love her to bits, but am quite frustrated with her today

Re: Do dogs have off days?

I definitely think so. Two of our dogs have some issues we are working on and it can very much be a case of making lots of progress then having a bad day where all the old habits seem to have returned. With ours it's usually just a blip and they're back on track the next day, hope Clover will be the same for you x

Re: Do dogs have off days?

Yes, sometimes it seems like Ollie has woken up from the wrong side of the bed. But usually, his misbehaviour only lasts a day and he's back to normal the next day.

Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Do dogs have off days?

Kilo has the odd 'Kevin' day where he pushes is luck from the moment he gets up . Thankfully they are few and far between and he is back to 'normal' the day after - just get through the rest of today and start afresh tomorrow xx.

Re: Do dogs have off days?

Dogs can have off days, they can pick up bugs and dont feel great like we can,
that can make them more reactive. They can encounter things too just like us that puts up their stress levels and again will make them more reactive. They can even pick up on us if we are stressed and anxious that certainly doesnt help.

Actually, thinking about it, she hasn't been eating much the last couple of days.. well she won't eat the ziwipeak, but will eat what is with it, like chicken. So maybe she is under the weather She seems quiet and clingy at home. Will keep an eye on her. Thanks for that

Re: Do dogs have off days?

Could be a bit of a tummy bug. You never can tell when it comes to dogs, the hide the small things well.
I do believe that dogs have off days "just because" though too. Rio has days when she just dosen't wanna work. She'll glue herself to her chair and give me a look that says "I wanna nap mum so go away" lol.
She has "I wanna do things MY way" days when shes going into heat. She'll hover insead of sit and rip open she stuffies in the kitchen.. Dogs eh??

Re: Do dogs have off days?

I know that any change is my Dalmatian routine can be followed by a day of Tyson head.. .
Tyson was his name when he came to us a frustrated ,untrained and bored nine month old pup arriving at his 4th home
