A small success...

Kenzie has always been happy to go in her crate and I always found she was much more settled when crated when I was out. However, I was worried that after being crated during the 24-hour flight she'd be a bit more reluctant to use one again, and she was when I first got her home.

However, just now we were both sitting on the floor and Kenzie got up and moved.....

Aww

Just goes to show how much she love her crate. Great that she feels so content there

That is good; is she slowly settling a bit more now?

She's much more settled on the whole, she's actually sleeping during the day now. Bed time is still difficult because she wakes up and barks at every noise, hopefully tonight will be a bit better. And we still have issues with the cat that I'm trying to figure out how to deal with. And I left her today for the first time in her crate for more than a few minutes and videoed her, and she barked and whined on an off for the first 10 minutes but then settled - I'm hoping this will improve with time. But otherwise, she's much, much better

Glad she is getting there; took Kilo about 3 - 4 weeks to be 'normal' although he settled to the idea of being left alone for short periods of time again right from the start luckily. Plenty of other things that he needed time to get used to though .

I read your cat thread but I have had cats, had dogs, but never both together so I have no idea!

Re: A small success...

Well last night was our best ever - she settled to sleep really easily and only woke up once when she heard barking outside, and then slept until the first person in the house got up at about 6.15am.

I think it's safe to say she's claimed the house
