Re: Not really sure why I bother going with them...
Didnt have a lot of time to reply earlier, but mine will run off into woodland and i have counted seconds a couple of times before they are heading back which is usually just at the point that i am thinking of whistling and it is roughly 10 seconds or so, which seems like a long time, but they have been consistently reliable to between about 7-13 seconds for months now. It is easier in the winter cos you can see much further cos the leaves arent in the way!

Re: Not really sure why I bother going with them...
Brig is usually in sight. Bear checks back every few minutes but disappeared for 5 minutes today so I had to retrace steps and I confess, I did start to worry a bit. We were in hundreds of acres and for some reason, he goes off near the end, maybe because he knows it's his last chance. He and Zak disappeared for two hours one time!

which is the best thing ever I think...especially when they have a friend to run with. I would LOVE a second dog (rescue) so that there is always a friend to play with, but until my boy is trained properly its out the question as I struggle to keep him in check as it is. one day tho....one day ![]()
