When I was a child I got my first dog on Christmas day and we had him for 16 years. However the breeder actually sold my mum and dad two dominant male Staffy pups and within a very short time they started to hate each other and one had to be rehomed so I don't think the breeder was actually putting the pups welfare first.

I totally agree because after this time of year the rescues get more dogs with people who have been given them as presents, and then get fed up of them or think they're too much work.
