Janice the KC DO take action against Breeders also against Judges.I don't see how when the DO take action they can be called Hypocrites

They do not ignore complaints they are investigated throughly. They don't sweep things under the carpet like the DLRC do.

Why do you think they calling for legislation, surely it's better than nothing at all ?

Could you find me a KC Reg puppy for sale in a commercial outlet ?
If not Why Not ?

Re: The DLRC have started a petition

IMO the KC doesnt deserve such powers from the gouvernment.
First of all because what happens now with all the pedigree dogs that their breed standards have to be checked and maybe changed for the sake of the dogs....the kennel club let it come to all of this.
Also how can such powers be given someone who still in this minute lets byb and puppyfarmers register with?
Why not make health testing mandatory (sp) and prove to the ppl that they are really looking for the welfare of the dogs and not looking to gain power over the breeders?

This is interesting to read and showes a bit the other side

why does it just have to be a commercial outlet? take a look at other sites that have lots of puppies for sale, all kc reg...but then i did point this out before.
If i had my way i would like to see a new body started, perhaps i'd have more faith in them.
And as some people have said, what about crossbred dogs?some people prefer them.

But surely giving them legislation they can then refuse to register litters which are not tested, breed clubs have been calling for this for sometime.
As I said if complaints are made about breeders or Judges they are investigated.
Why do the NIS accept litter registrations from dodgy breeders, untested dogs, dogs that are known to have health issues ?
If the KC are supposed to be as bad as some of you are making out why did they refuse to accept the NI as a new breed ?
Surely there was money to be made by accepting the NI as a breed.

backfiring doesnt work here sallyanne as the thread is about the KC

To me it looks like alot of ppl seem to dinstance themselves from the kc and the kc because of this seems to seek this powers to have controll over everyone .... which is a really poor move imo.

Health testing would make alot of change but then ppl still would have a choice if they wish to register with them or not.

I only found one advert from that breeder, and you didn't provide me with anymore, perhaps she is a PF,maybe she isn't.If you have concerns about this particular breeder report her to the KC who will investigate and if there is any truth in it will take action.

So are you saying all the ads in various place that have KC Reg dogs are from PF's ?
I asked if you could find me a KC Reg puppy fror sale in a commercial outlet if not why not ? To say there are plenty avertised elsewhere, doesn't really hold water with your arguement does it ?

It wasn't backfiring they were genuine questions which remain unanswered.
This thread was about the DLRC starting a petition, because they don't want to be put out of business basically.

sorry but i'm getting confused with this...surely just because you don't get a KC certicate with a pup from a commercial outlet doesnt mean the parents are'nt KC reg..if a puppy farm or byb has KC reg parents and they just want to make money, would they bother to reg. the litteres?
and no i wasnt saying i saw the pups on pfs.

To me its more the kc seeks these powers because they dont want to be put out of business.....sadly.

After the bbc programme so much is happening suddenly.
Why does the kc has to check all the breed standards and change them? - because they let the dogs come to what they are now and ppl dont like it.

Why does the kc still register byb and puppyfarmers and dont make health test mandatory? - because registered litters by byb mean money and health testing cost money and the money the kc would loose by loosing the byb is too gracious.
By having these powers the money for the kc would be guaranteed.

Its all sad at the end of the day.
