No, only joking. I've been there a few times and it's quite a place. Nice people too, very friendly. They may well have a better way than us. Maybe we should forget RSPCA, KC and all the other initials and just get ABBA?

It's only popular with BYB and PF's.
Any decent breeder won't touch the DLRC with a 50ft barge pole
Well i am no way a byb and i register my pups with the DLRC. IM SICK TO DEATH WITH PEOPLE CALLING PEOPLE WHO HAVE DOGS REGISTERED WITH THE DLRC. My dogs were registered with the KC and now changed to the DLRC.
I do not overbreed,am in contact with all my buyers and offfer a lifetime help if they have to rehome their pups.My pups are spoilt, loved andv very socialised and not caged up and just bred for the money .I only breed if people are waiting for pups or if i want a pup myself
There are too many KC first classs snobs on here and they are no different than me and im sick of hearing that the KC are better the DLRC.

KC snob or not,I think it is the way forward and breeding needs to be regulated.
As a Breeder you must be one of a small minority who registers with the DLRC,who does things properly but I will stick to my opinion which I am entitled to.
The majority who register with the DLRC are known puppy farmers and BYB,I wouldn't wish to be assiociated with a club who activitly supports this cruel evil trade and allows pups with there registrations be be sold in pet superstores.
I think it is positive action by the KC asking for legislation and if it puts the DLRC out of business so be it,
My post which you quoted is true. How can you trust a club that doesn't have a code of ethics, allows puppies with their registrations to be sold in commercial outlets, that actively support puppy farming and that doesn't have an accurate database of pedigree dogs,a club which makes up peds, dogs are down as bitches and vice versa, and sometimes these peds are made up of several dogs which are a completely different breed.

As a Breeder myself I wouldn't touch them with a 50ft barge pole, nor would I ever recommend someone buys a puppy with DLRC registration.

We do need something done and the UK needs Legislation in place to regulate breeding,I have been saying this for a very long time.
It is far too easy in the UK to breed, advertise and sell dogs.
Until something is done Dogs and Puppies will continue to suffer and the hands of BYB & PF's and dogs will continue to be PTS.

At least it seems to be a positive step going in the right direction regarding legislation.

Re: The DLRC have started a petition

I never get why people can't think of a better arguement than people who KC their litters are 'KC snobs'

It has nothing to do with snobbery, it has to do with not only caring about your own individual dogs, but the breed as a whole and the dog world as a whole.

Surely if you had the choise to register or buy with either a registration body that is known to register dogs with 'fake' (made-up) pedigrees, started by puppy farmers, pretty much for puppy farmers, who's registration stands for pretty much nothing, as no dog needs to have verified parentage for it's progeny to be registere dwitht hem int he first place, or a body that, despite what peopel say, do have best interests of the dogs at heart, do nto allow any puppies registered with them to be sold in shops or commercial outlets, have computer records of pedigrees and health tests carried out and (if this goes through!) insist upon health tests being carried out, you'd chose the second?

Englishrose, it is clear that you care about your dogs and are trying to do things properly, but why do you register with DLRC? Why not simply not register your litters ata ll? You could still give pedigrees out with them and you wouldn't be giving money to puppy farmers.
