JR Kills 6 week old baby

WBKO - News

The story reads,
Kentucky infant was killed while taking a nap when he was attacked by the family's dog.

Lexington police say 6-week-old Justin Mozer was sleeping in a bedroom on Jan. 18, when a Jack Russell Terrier attacked him.

"We arrived to find an infant suffering from injuries that we believe came from a dog attack," said Lt. John Gensheimer, of the Lexington Police Dept.

"The child was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital and it has now become a death investigation."

Police say the boy' s mother was in another room at the time.

The infant was taken to the UK Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy revealed the boy died of suffocation and blood loss.

The family also owns a Pit Bull.

It asked animal control to take away both dogs.

Neighbors say they're shocked by what happened.

No charges have been filed.

Just goes to prove any dog of any breed can be dangerous and when will people ever learn.

Re: JR Kills 6 week old baby

That is soooo distressing.
Dogs should NEVER be trusted near babies or young children (and I have had 4 children and many dogs). The first time we came home from the hospital with our first son and he woke up and made a baby mewing news all the dogs were on prey alert and in hunting mode They can't be trusted not to follow their instincts

Re: JR Kills 6 week old baby

there was a case in this counry where a youny baby had been left alone while the mum was upstair (supposedly drinking)
and a jack russle chewed off its hands and feet.
again that is down to the humans,
that is one of the reasons it is pointless to ban breeds it is always the humans fault!

Quite, people need to realise dogs are animals not humans in furry suits.

We wouldn't leave a baby alone with a pony, pig cow or any other animal, I hope?

Re: JR Kills 6 week old baby

I have two young childern and if i go up stairs for anything my dog goes outside i would never trust any dog left unattended with children because its just not worth the risk, even though i dont think our dog would ever touch our children im not prepared to find out the hard way!

Re: JR Kills 6 week old baby

Most often I am more worried what a child could do to the dog.
