Well a lot of people in America have told me that dogs with cropped ears have healthier ears than those that have their ears left natural. Natural ears apparently cause dogs to have more ear infections because the ears can't 'breath'. But then I think with them being cropped and totally open, they'd be more prone to getting things in them?

Yeh I heard that they are more prone to ear mites and other parasites with the cropped ears as it is unprotected?

But they as you say the floppy ears could cause problems too?

Ear cropping is definitely still done in Europe. My friend breeds Perra Pressa Canario's which are spanish, and the first few she had imported over had cropped ears but obviously any pups she breeds have full ears, and IMO look a much nicer dog for it.

She does however say that the cropped ears have never had ear infections etc but the none cropped ones are quite prone to it
