Amazing

Hiya
Just wanted to share my surprise and joy with you.We got our new Whippet puppy Bobby on saturday and since sunday he has been going to toilet on demand outside, I am so surprised, i was expecting weeks of cleaning up poo inside, he will obviously go toilet inside if we didnt take him outside so regulary, but ive only had 2 wees in 2 days. years ago when our old lab was apup it took her weeks to realise that we wanted her to go toilet outside and i remember standing freezing wondering if sh'ed ever get the idea lol.
I know its 2 steps forward and 5 steps back with pups but he is an absolute joy, ive never known such a cuddly dog and we're falling in love with him already

I'll second that, lol!

Just be careful if you take him anywhere (like a friends house for example). Renji was going to the back door to go out when he needed the toilet within a few days, and it set him back a few days when we took him to the OH's parents house, as he didn't know where he was supposed to go to get outside.

Didn't take long to get him back to where he was, but was highly frustrating at the time.

Re: Amazing

Poppy was clean in 9 days, Lady is taking forever, ok, she's not done a sneaky one indoors for days, the last was being allowed in out living room (which we don't use much ) and she pee'd on the rug, since then touch wood we've had clean days, nights on the other hand are getting annoying now, maybe once I get her out walking we'll get her in a routine morning and night!!

Re: Amazing

Waow he's gorgeous! and what unusual colouring. What age and how is he responding to being taken out in the rain? - our whippet hates it.

Clever little Bobby, I am so glad you are happy with him, but knowing Whippets I was sure you would be.

Re: Amazing

Bobby is 14 weeks old. He has been quite funny about going out on the lead, probably just got to get used to it. The strong wind has worried him a bit too. When i take him out in the garden to toilet he doesnt seem to like the rain much, but at the moment thats not a bad thing because it makes him do his business quicker lol, so then i dont have to stand in the rain for too long. Hes a lovely little thing and looks really funny in his coat thats rather too large for him when he goes for walks
