Unsolicited advice

Just occurred to me this morning how much unsolicited advice we get on a daily basis. Now most of it doesn't bother me at all, I just smile politely and change the subject or thank the person and move on.

Today I met a man with an overweight young dog waddling along whose advice was to give Kilo plenty of running around so that he doesn't get fat as that's what he does with his dog. I resisted the urge to say 'but yours is a porker' .

The second piece was from a lady who had spotted Kilo's conkers swinging in the breeze and advised neutering ASAP. When I asked why, she wasn't too sure apart from knowing that's what responsible owners did - I just told her why I wasn't going to at the moment and we had a fairly interesting conversation about it . Must admit that I get asked when I am going to have him neutered at least several times a week - apart from the dalmation owner the other day who thought that cross puppies would be lovely - apparently there would be money to be made from Rhodesian Dalbacks .

Oh that Dalmatian owner sounds like the plank I met the other day! Wanted to put Harvey to his Rottie bitch and produce Rotternese, because "they'd go like hotcakes and make a bloody fortune" some worrying people about isn't there!!

Re: Unsolicited advice

We haven't even got our puppy yet but I've been inundated with advice for weeks. There's an awful lot of dog "experts" around don't you think?

As my old Nan used to say bless her, "You should always practice what you preach"!!

Or My other favourite. "Oh Lord teach me to keep my big mouth shut until I know what Im talking about"!!

Or
Brain into gear before putting mouth in motion!!

That was a good thing about my Samoyed and Kobi because they are so furry and have the "trousers" you cant see them. So nobody knows

Do I detect the tone of this thread might be lowered with the change in subject???????? Or Focus on the subject I should say and can it be construed as going off topic:
