What has your dog done to make you proud today?

We spend a lot of time on here worrying about our dogs' behaviour, debating walking etiquette and talking about the failings of other owners. Sometimes we almost lose the positives amongst all that.

I have been thinking about how far Kilo has come today after our experience with the hunt and I thought it might be nice to have a little boast / acknowledgement of our dogs' achievements day - to day, however small the victory!

So...today I am extremely pleased and proud that Kilo recalled from the chase with the hunt .

Please add your own...

Today

I am so proud that Lexi walked in the rain without her coat on and didn't run home (HUGE achievement)

Bosley made me hugely proud we are having excitement issues with him he gets overly stimulated by play gets growly then barky and can get so frustrated with the other dog he gets aggressive. Today I let them in the garden he invited Lexi to play politely (instead of just jumping all over her) they had a good 15 minute play with no growling or barking and him never getting OTT then when Lexi broke off the play he just walked away got a drink and sat down, he has NEVER done this we have always had to tell him enough, it has given me light at the end of what was feeling like a very long tunnel and I am very proud of him for it.

Re: What has your dog done to make you proud today?

Well today, we went to a family dog show, which was part of a horse and pony show. Sadie usually gets very excited around horses, and barks at them. Today, I kept her very close, and she didnt bark at them once, or try to pull towards them, or show much interest at all in them tbh. I was very pleasantly surprised.

She also won 2 x 2nd place rosettes, and 2 x 3rd place rosettes.

Re: What has your dog done to make you proud today?

Our walk today entailed walking down quite a busy road. After getting hit by a car a few months ago, Lilly is now pretty nervous.

But she walked and only stopped and tried to dive into a bush twice!

As a nervous dog anyway, I am very proud at how she is trying to move forward x

Re: What has your dog done to make you proud today?

Well.. this was the other day but hey....
There's another Baxter on our street, a little JRT.. and he'd got loose and had done a runner... his owner (lovely lady) had found him but he wouldn't come to her.. .was playing a game of chase (as you would)... so I got my slightly larger Baxter out on his lead and low and behold, little Baxter came legging it over to say hello!

End of the story... little Baxter safe & sound at home

Re: What has your dog done to make you proud today?

I spent 40 minutes just trundling along the farm road picking brambles and Tummel didn't run off at all...even when loads of crows landed on the road he just watched them

Just a silly wee thing but we usually get down the farm road in about 10 minutes and off to the exciting fields, also Tummels been walking in the rain and not getting stressed It does mean more walks in the rain but i have my cagoule and wellies ready
