There is a Foxhound just come into our local rescue,they say it's a cross but it looks like a Dumfriesshire foxhound to me.

Now I have sort of been looking for another dog ever since I got Craven,as he's a pack animal I think he would love another dog.

But................

This dog was found as a stray or abandoned,but probably stray,so that could mean 2 dogs with dodgy recall,I don't think I could handle 2 dogs on longlines.

This rescue is about 4 years old so nearly 2 years older than Craven.

Am I being silly even thinking about this.

Your thoughts and opinions are welcome.

i went to a foxhound show once and the dogs were stunning , i would love one but apparantly they dont make good pets
is craven a full foxhound , hes a very noble looking beast and i have been wondering because of his markings but ive never seen one kept as a pet before.

Craven is a full foxhound,but he's a cross between an English & Welsh Foxhound,as a pet he's perfect and his recall is improving.

But would the rescue one be as good as Craven.

They do make great pets,very similar to Beagles although Craven seems a lot bolder than most Beagles.

His temperament is excellent and he loves all dogs & people.

oh im so jelous , does he drag u around on the lead and is he noisy ?

He's not noisy in the house,when he's excited or trying to get another dog to play he will bark/howl a little.

He does pull a little,but that's not a problem with One dog,but with 2 I would have to work on Craven a bit more.But he's a lot better than he was.
