Waiting for my Shih-poo pup.

Hi there, I have introduced myself in the introductions thread but I just wanted to swing by and say hello and suggest that you have a look at my introduction post if you're bored or have missed it

I would love to hear about puppy/dog ownership especially from fellow shih-poo owners but I'm not exclusive.

I hope you all have a good day

Sam

Re: Waiting for my Shih-poo pup.

I have 2 Shih Tzu crosses
Not crossed with poodle though - Zipper is 4 and 1/2 Shih Tzu 1/2 debatable
Lilly is 1/4 Shih Tzu 1/2 Maltese and 1/4 Terier.

They both were lovely puppies Zipper has always been much more playful than Lilly.

Expect the usual puppy trials and tribulations

As long as your prepared to put the work in with lots of love and patience you'll have a great companion

My top tip is socialisation - get out and about carrying your pup so he/she gets used to big wide world before they've had their jabs. Sign up for puppy training classes and if possible puppy play/socialisation.

Off now to read your intro post to find out more about pup

Re: Waiting for my Shih-poo pup.

Hello Sam

Waiting for the pup to arrive is so exciting as is the journey to pick them up!

Look forward to seeing pictures and hearing all about puppy.

I love poodle crosses as I own two a cockapoo and Cavapoo ( see my avatar)

Lots of good advice on here including the stickies x

Re: Waiting for my Shih-poo pup.

Welcome to PF - can't help on the shihpoo front, but just to say there are loads of good stickies on here in all the dog sections covering all the basics of puppy ownership .

Enjoy shopping for puppy stuff .

Re: Waiting for my Shih-poo pup.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and advice. I look forward to sharing some stories of my own and posting some pics for you to see.

I get to choose her next weekend and am really excited. I have pick of the litter which is a bit of a bonus

May partner and I are having a hard time on agreeing on a name. So far we have Lilly, Emma or Honey. Hopefully it will come to us when we eventually meet her.

I'm sure you'll decide on the right name for her when you meet her
Obviously I think Lilly is a great name
