Thanks; that's very helpful - how far away can you see them? They look fairly bright!

Re: Dog illumination!

at a reasonable distance , they are actually brighter than they appear in the photos because the pictures were taken on a mobile phone so not the best quality.

Re: Dog illumination!

When we had William I used to use some of those cross belts that cyclists wear. The bit that goes across the shoulder and chest I shortened so it fitted across the front of his chest and the waist belt I put round his chest. He was white so was easy to see normally but when he had his coat on I put them over his coat when we walked. The belts easily showed up in the car head lights.

The whippets all have those reflective arm bands you can buy for kids I bought a box of them at an auction I think I paid about a pound for the lot. OK they are all pink and say BARBIE on them but at least the dogs show up in the cars lights.

- not sure why the Barbie thing made me laugh, but it did!

The cyclists belts are a good idea for reflective kit, thanks.

Maybe because some of my dogs are males and they still wear Barbie collars when out in the dark. My boys aren't fussy and say only a real male can wear pink and everyone has to be in touch with their feminie side

Re: Dog illumination!

I ended up going with one of these: Nite Dawg L.E.D. Collar by Nite Ize - K9Active.co.uk and have to say that, so far, I am very pleased with it. I took some photos and a quick video the other night but somehow mucked up and they got deleted .
