its so frustrating and when you try to tell people to ignore her and do what I ask them to do regarding her training and commands they think I am the one with issues and I am over reacting
so today is day 1 (again!) of training for a calmer, civilised dog that i was well on the way to getting!
do you think i could put a sign on the door saying "go away, u are upsetting me, my dog, my husband and my baby, but feel free to leave gifts, flowers and cake"

Maybe you or OH could give them a call and calmly explain why you have the rules you have and that you really would love their support especially as your household is about to go through a big change. Strong rules will help Lexie.

If that fails in a quiet but menacing voice just say " Don't upset the pregnant lady!"

How about having a sign near the front door saying "Our house, our dog, our rules. Break the rules and you will be asked to leave. No exceptions".

You may have to enforce it once or twice, and ruffle feathers a bit at first, but might work.

YES!!! that would be perfect, i did have to tell my dad to turn tv down yesterday and felt like saying my house my rules!!!
have i turned into a real grouch recently or what!

its so frustrating,i tell everyone who comes to mine,never fuss him while hes in an excited state,wait till he sits,and hes calm,then give him a stroke!,most listen,some dont,and then theyre suprised if he jumps at them for fuss!

the other trick is the guilt card

tell them outright that them encouraging Lexie to bad behaviour now will put your baby at risk of accidental harm - if she's used to jumping up she could knock someone with baby over, accidentally scratch baby or bump/bruise baby or just plain old scare baby and make them cry.

babies are tiring enough without an unbalanced dog - especially after you've put all the work in to make her calm and well behaved!
