Unhappy Fireworks :(

Oh dear I was wondering how Zach would deal with fireworks...

Its not going well, he is running around with all the hair on his back sticking right on end, barking and whimpering. Now he is hiding behind the couch. I'm trying to ignore him because I don't want to reward & encourage his fear but its so horrible seeing him like this... should I cuddle him?? Help!

Re: Fireworks :(

Dont cuddle him act as normally as poss if you react your self to his emotions it will make him even more insecure. I know its hard maybe turn your radio or tv up a little to muffle the sound a bit. Reward when he is acting normally. Bless poor boy.

Re: Fireworks :(

Is there any way you can distract him with his favourite game or something, just try and take his mind of it.

Re: Fireworks :(

gundogs are fine as they are used to shotguns going off right above them, but Bess is barking and cowering and growling and whining, I'm ignoring her, silly girl.
