100% you did the right thing.

You are responsible for reuniting what sounds like a much loved family dog back with a wonderful family who were desperately searching for her.

Re: How am i doing wrong??

You certainly did the right thing. If it wasn't for you there would be one really upset family - you should feel really proud of yourself reuniting them. well done.

Had the man next door been walking round in blinkers - how could he have the dog knowing he was really missed and loved by its own family??? Some people

Re: How am i doing wrong??

Who the hell gives a monkey nut what the neighbours think. You did the right thing, everyone who has posted so far has said you did the right thing, the guy in question knew he had been busted and so knew you were doing the right thing, I am pretty sure the dogs real owners think you did the right thing and probably even the dog thinks you did the right thing.

There is a reason that some blob would pick up a dog on the street and claim it as his own just as there is a reason that some people would moan when the dog is taken away to be reunited with it's real family. It's called being a scratter and there are far too many of them about. They have no respect for other people, let alone their belongings or property and they all think that the world owes them something. Scratters.

Re: How am i doing wrong??

A while back, my old friend had Boxer puppy. Not long after getting her, whilst she was out in the garden, someone broke one of the back panels of their fencing and stole her. Jenny didn't see because she had quickly popped to the loo, but she heard the noise of the fencing being kicked in and rushed downstairs, only to see someone legging it with her puppy half way down the road. She called the police and there ended up being an investigation, but no one had any leads and the person the police found had already sold the dog on and spent the money, so their was nothing they could do. All they could do was try to take him to court and see what happened.

They did, of course, and it went on for about 3 weeks with no luck, except whilst they were going back and forth to court, a few friends had spotted a Boxer puppy that looked a lot like Chelsea Chubby Chops a few miles away and reported it. The police showed up and confirmed it was her, and the new owners had no clue that she had been stolen (Even forked out £800 to have her!) but they gladly handed her over when they heard the story and the police ordered the thief to repay them their money.

That's the difference between a good person and someone who doesn't give a damn either way if a dog is stolen or missing.

You did the right thing in reuniting the dog with her family and clearly your mum's neighbour didn't care about her, nor the fact that she was probably someone else's loved pet! Tell the rest of the people in the village and tell his wife to kiss your arse. They're the cruel one's for not caring that that dog was being missed dearly.

Re: How am i doing wrong??

I would suggest that what they did was illegal - fair enough if they had found the dog and made attempts to find the owners but it would appear they did nothing - so I guess that's why they want to turn the table and make you feel bad about doing the right thing.

Forget about them - they are not worth using up mental energy on.

Well done.

Re: How am i doing wrong??

I would just say to those saying you did wrong "how would you feel if it was your pet that went missing and someone took it?" - put them in the position. And if they said they wouldnt care, then they wouldnt deserve pets.

I think you did the right thing and i would have done exactly the same thing in your position.

Seeing as your mom is moving soon and you won't see them, until that time comes, when you visit lock your car up saying fairly loudly ' Best lock it up or it'll be called Lucy in no time!' Hold your head up high.

Re: How am i doing wrong??

At first i did have my doubts because the poster was weeks old. And apparently he'd had the dog around 3 weeks.
I was tossing with the decision for an hour or so. I didnt want to drag them all that way to find out it wasnt there dog.
Good job i did!
