Took stanlie to my work today :)

I work in a care home and alot of the people who are residents there love dogs. ive taken stan in once before only too see 2 residents but today i took him in and he met at least half of the residents and they fell in love with him he got lots of fuss, lots of treats he loved it and so did the residents esp a new resident who had too rehome her dog when she came into the care home so she was mega happy too see stan. They have asked me too take him back again which i will .

Not only is it good for the residents but i think its good to represent the breed

Re: Took stanlie to my work today :)

My Fletcher (a rescued Rottweiler) goes in to two nursing homes every Monday as a registered PAT dog (Pets as Therapy). Everyone benefits, the staff; because they see the residents interact, the residents themselves because they chat and remember things; Fletcher, because he gets plenty of treats; and me, because I love listening to old people nattering on about the past.

I love my weekly visits.

(Oh, it also makes people see Rottweiler in a different light, the way they truly are when brought up properly and trained properly!)

Well done Stanlie!

I took Prince to visit my granny a few weeks back, thought it would be good for her and the residents, but they mostly have dementia and didn't really seem to care lol

The staff were lovely to him, and when they brought the tea trolley round he got some cheese, so he was happy, but when a man came to collect the cups with a tray he freaked out and started barking, which then caused one of the male residents to come into the room and start barking at Prince, then he bent over and told Prince to bite his bum yeah, so we decided it might be time to leave then lol
