Over a bloody kribble and bella has a cut ear and pee'd in her bed and is now growling at me if I so much as move or dare look at her

Mooky is flat out snoring!

I'm going to take them for a walk to try and lighten the mood but wow that was horrible

i`m confused, you had a fight over what? i`m sure she`ll forgive you soon huni, they`re like stroppy teenagers, just ignore her and she`ll soon come running back

eta - i hope the cut on her ear isn`t too bad

Kibble, auto correct changed it

I dropped a kibble whilst getting ready to feed them, bell went to get it, mook charged at her she turned on him and full fight started. Minutes later found drops of blood leading to bella in bed and as I got near she wet the bed and snapped

She's still growling at me when I put her harness on! Glad I'm off to work shortly as I don't like her snarling me and she won't let me check the ear-from what I can see it's a puncture not a tear x

The odd squabble is to be expected, even between dogs raised together.

If it were a full fight, rather than a noisy, showy one, there would be a lot more injuries and it would have been a job for you to part them. A puncture really is nothing, especially on a flappy ear that more than likely just got in the way.

Just ignore Bella, and treat them both as normal. Once she has calmed down and you've both got over the shock, you can have a closer look at her.

Alfie is currently sporting a puncture wound on his head from a collie that did nothing more than give him a waning snap.

Maybe shut one or both of the dogs out the kitchen when preparing their food

Aaaaaaaw...Dottie and Charlie have had a few scraps (about 5 *touchwood* no more) over the tiniest bit of food. Charlie went for Dottie at the beginning of the year over a bit of chicken...twice in fact the little sods raided the bin bags and Charlie did (and will) defend his food even against Dottie.

As long as you take precautions as previous posters have said, you should be fine, all dogs scrap as I know with Chazzy

Oh dear. Hopefully she will feel more herself soon. It is scary to see your furkids fighting though..
On the bright side as everyone said it sounds more like a scuffle if you didnt have to pull them apart and you also know exactly what caused it so it will be easy to manage their behaviour.
(thank god mine dont have that problem. Some mornings I hide their kibble all around the house and they have to go find it!!LOL)

Oh no it's really stressful when they have a fight In 24 hours it will seem much better than it does now. Shannow and Pippi had a fight over a kibble under the end of the sofa and Pippi came away with a puncture on her head and a nick in her ear. That was 10 days ago and nothing since...I do not prepare food in their presence at all though. I've got a baby gate on the kitchen door and they take it in turns to be in the kitchen with me while I make their dinner.

if you have any sudo cream i would just rub it in the puncture wound on her ear to be on the safe side

Sorry was on phone so only short replies.

I've had to put the bag of food in the hallway as mooky has begun trying to jump on my tumble dryer to get to the food bin on top so as I filled up the jug to then prepare in the kitchen (behind stair gate) I tripped on the stair gate and dropped a piece of food which they both kept for off the sofa and the scuffle broke out.

Dh had to pull mooky off and put him in the kitchen and I pulled bell off which is maybe why she growled at me not him?!

They are always fed separate as mooky eats far to fast and heads to bell and she will go for him. I can remove her food bowl no prob it's just him she won't tolerate near it.

They spent 45 mins running through the woods together and I've just got in from work and mook is on his bed and bell is in dh lap which is slightly unusual as normally the dogs sleep together but I guess they're just giving each other space.

One blip in 8 weeks isn't bad going I guess it just shook me xx
