Gsd puppy, sick and sloppy poop!

hello everyone
i have an 8 week and 2 day old gsd pup, kiva.
last night she was her usual happy, mental, lace chewing self until she fell asleep about 11.30pm, she woke at around 3am her usual happy self, and i let her in the back garden to go do a wee, which she did and then promptly ran and disappeared for a few minutes down our side drive little terror she is! anyway after being back in for about 10 minutes she started heaving and left 3 small piles of sick in my living room, it looked like her food just runnier (she had her last meal at around 9pm) then she laid down for 10 mins then sat up whined and ran to the back door, so i let her out and she went into the garden and was sick again she did the same thing one other time and on both the outside occasions she was sick twice, and the last time she was sick it just looked like foamy phlegm, as opposed to the runny food consistency of the first piles. after the last instance, at around 5am she fell asleep and woke at around 7.30am had a wee and went back to sleep, i then woke her at around 9.20am to try and get her to eat/drink something before i left for work (my teenage son is home so she not by herself) but she wasnt interested. i usually feed her on wainwrights large breed puppy complete, with a bit of the ww wet trays mixed in, but this morning i just soaked the dry in a lot of water so it was mushy (and had plenty of fluids in it, as she wasnt interested in her water bowl either) and that didnt interest her, so i did the same with the wet tray food, added a bit of water, not interested she had had a number 2 and as always done it in 2 piles, one was nicely formed, the other like chocolate mr whippy! i had to get ready to go to work, but before i went i managed to give her a little water with a syringe, but she wasnt happy about it! anyway, i rang my son around an hour after i left to see if she had eaten anything and he said she had eaten the wet food and had had a little drink phew! my oh goes home at dinner and when i spoke to him he said she isnt as playful as she usually is (she sees him more of a sibling than an owner, and is usually hyper when she sees him!) so enough of the rambling, i am going to see how she is when i get home at around 3pm but i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions, reccomendations or advice, i am very worried and if she is still 'off' when i get in i shall ring the vet, but after reading hundreds of articles on this site before and after getting her, i now what a helpful bunch you are

sorry for the drawn out explaination, but wanted to give you as much info as poss, also it may be worth mentioning that she has been having worming formula from the vets since monday? (once a day for 3 days, today being the last one) could that have anything to do with it? i have had her for a few weeks so she isnt newly settling in, and she had her first injection just over a week ago. help please????

As has been said vet check. However wormers can in my experience cause a dog/pup to be sick, I am not familiar with ones you give 3 days running, let us know how you get on at the vet.

Re: Gsd puppy, sick and sloppy poop!

Well I really don't know what to do now, I got home around 2pm (left early) and she was a bit less enthusiastic than usual. But about 10 mins after I got in she was sniffing around where she is fed. Oh and the other half gave her some more of the wet tray food mixed with water and she ate all that. Anyway the dry food she has works out at roughly 3 of my handfuls 4 times a day, so when I saw her sniffing I offered her one of the dry kibbles out my hand and she ate it, and continued to eat them 1 at a time until she had polished off around 2 and a half handfuls, I then offered her her water bowl but she wasn't really interested so I gave her some water with a syringe and she had about 3 (but they are only small, about 6ml) and now she is in the living room terrorising my son and his friends with gutso!!!

Soooo do I ring the vets?? I am obviously not trying to put off going to vets if she really needs to, but at the minute she is being her normal pain in the butt chewing, playing and running about self!

And the wormer she has had was from the vets?
And as I finish this post she has just drank from her bowl, twice

Re: Gsd puppy, sick and sloppy poop!

Well she seemed to be fine all afternoon yesterday, drinking and playing. Last night wasn't really interested in last meal (around 8pm) then about an hour later had a (very) runny poop! Still seemed ok in herself, no sick since the first incident but not really interested in her breakfast at 8am so rang the vets this morning and she has an appointment in an hour. After eventually eating most of her breakfast over an hour or so the other half put some dry in her bowl when he came home at dinner and she has picked at it a bit but not much.
Hoping the vet says its nothing serious, will let you all know how she gets on, keep your fingers crossed for me

Re: Gsd puppy, sick and sloppy poop!

Well that eased my mind a lot vet said she isn't too concerned as she hasn't been sick since early hours yesterday and seems to be well hydrated (that syringe certainly came in handy!) And is alert. Checked her teeth, heart rate and temp and all fine so she gave her a shot of antibiotics and some tablet form to finish the course, and also some kaogel? (that's what it says on the bottle ha ha) for the diarrhea. So hopefully she just ate something she shouldn't of on the sly? But the vet did say that it is possible that the working liquid had something to do with it. Anyway I am now a very relieved mum thank you for your best wishes x

Oh and now, she is running round the garden and eating pegs! Little madam! Ha ha

*edit do our dogs do it on purpose or what!? Lol she has just been for a poo and it is formed! Not great but its poo shaped lol apparently my bank account just needed to be £40 lighter! It's good job she's so cute
