Re: Comments on your walk today.

Two people said how handsome Kilo was .

One person said they wanted a Ridgeback and asked where I got him - then asked if he was 'one of the tall type' instead of a miniature

One person said their dog was 'too bouncy' to play which is why he was on a lead (had put Kilo on lead too when I saw it) - fair enough although I said that Kilo was bouncy too if they wanted to play. She didn't - which again is fine, but when I turned around later she was letting her dog play offlead with the other dogs that she had met along the way. Happens a lot ; but at least it is a polite way of saying you don't like my dog .

Had a bloke with a lab that really had no control over his dog on our walk today asweli had my too on lead as i do if i see another dogand his dog massive labrador came bouncy over all in stan n hoochs face, hooch told him off not agressive just a bark which then only did the owner try to get hold of his dog which just wouldnt listen so i just went to a bench and sat down n waited for him to finally get him undercontrol even after hooch told him off he still carried on and he was a fully grown lab.....

Glad it went well - ours was lovely (and stile free) too apart from when Kilo knocked me onto my backside so I slid all the way down a very steep bank to the river, got wet then had to clamber back up after he had had a swim .

I have come to the conclusion that at least they are polite about not liking the breed of your dog rather than downright rude as some are .

Re: Comments on your walk today.

Well, I had a fantastic walk!! Even though mine arent great with other dogs we met 9 and they were all polite pooches so it made my lot behave as well!!

First we passed a pack of 5 that Heidi didnt even bark at. I think coz it was 2 ESS and 3 Cockers so all she saw was 5 dogs with their noses to the ground, wagging tails totally ignoring her. As both packs were happily enjoying the park and didnt want to met we passed within 6ft of each other with 8 off lead dogs calmly and nicely.
Then we met a very elderly stiff legged Lab (who whined to herself as she said hello, awwww!!). As she was so slow she didnt scare my dogs and I was able to call Hannah back before she got grumpy.
Then we came upon a young lab and a Rottie who were also off lead but walking so nicely together they looked like they had an invisible lead on. We all passed each other on the path and Adam and the Lab went back to say hello, again Hannah went up and looked abit grumpy but i was able to call her away before she scared herself and got grumpy.

Finally I heard someone shouting in the distance and an enormous black Staffie came zooming up to us. Heidi got out of the way sharpish, Adam said hello and Hannah was said hello to!!....at which point she growled at him and air snapped his nose! (I let her off that one coz it was an appropriate response to his rude behaviour). He took it in Staffie style and pottered off quite happily, owners still shouting in the distance!!LOL

Isnt it great when you meet polite dogs on your walk??

Re: Comments on your walk today.

We had a few lovely smiles and comments from people who appreciated me taking my 3 boys off the public footpath and getting them to lie down until people and their dogs/children pushbikes etc. went by.

The only "noisy" one, was Floyd, the JRT - but he just makes a noise with sheer excitement when chasing his ball!

Re: Comments on your walk today.

Won't tell a lie as it wasn't today as Dad walks him today. So its last time I was at the country park.

A lady with a very cute staffy looked in a panic because Dougie was off lead - she shouted to me its ok she's friendly. Felt really sorry for her

Then met a Golden Retriever who had a good play with Dougie. The owner said "what a nice looking lovely natured dog you have, my girl is 13 and haven't seen her run round like that for many years". Felt proud
