This is Ogden Water just outside Halifax one of our fave walks and if you get there at the right time it's very quiet. Had the whole place to myself yesterday apart from a couple of joggers. We're going up to Bolton Abbey this week as well so I have two very contended doggies

heehee I saw your thread last night

there are only one or two but you can avoid them depending on which route you take. I think if you stay within Ogden itself (rather than going up on the moors) you can avoid them altogether. There are a few sheep up on the moors though but again you can make a good 2 or 3hr walk just around Ogden itself
