The only number I have been given is the longish "A" one on a peach "owner registration" certificate x

Re: Dog showing, what papers do I need?

The greyhound club champ show is in June but they do have an open show in october I think.

You can enter Crufts with a racing greyhound without qualifying as you would a show bred. You can only enter the racing and coursing bitch class with her though unless you qualify for the show classes in the same way a show bred dog would do.

Some champ shows do not have greyhound classes or they do not have CC's on offer. You can enter her into any of the normal show greyhound classes.

You can also enter her into open shows not many have greyhound classes but you cane enter not seperately classified hound if there is one if not the AV class.

So how did it work out with her name? Did you get one or choose one? did she have an original one I presume? How exciting

I would recommend a ringcraft club to help you get into it all
Also there's a couple of good books about showing on amazon if you like reading
Ok :-) I rang the irish stud book and gave her ear tattoos and she came up as un named but all her pedigree parentage. She is now named "A Touch Of Velvet", they sent me all her pedigree which I forwarded to the KC, and they have now given me the "owner registration" certificate xx

Dog showing is great
and I have a massive soft spot for greys

If like Freya says you can go to Crufts under a racing and coursing class I would highly recommend it, its a tiring day but a wonderful experience.
You are on the Sunday next year Sunday 11th March

All you need to do to enter the racing and coursing class at crufts is on the entry form it will ask for the stud book number or were the dog qualified. In that space you put her greyhound stud book number which it will say after her name on the owner form. It will say GSB ***. Button's says Bodell Button at Oakmoorehill GSB 126 so I put the GSB 126 in the space for the stud book number.

I enter my ex racer Button at crufts most years but rarely go to other shows with her. The first show she ever went to was crufts in 2008. It just means she can only enter the racing and coursing class. Her qualification is her ear tattoos and her greyhound racing passport.
