Re: How tolerant is your OH?

My OH conveniently pretends to hear Terence when he cries at night to go outside. Hmff. He did the same with our 2 kids, so I'm assuming it's pathological.

Re: How tolerant is your OH?

Hehe. When I decided to get Mia he was initially reluctant but mostly indifferent. He didn't mind me getting her as long as it was "my dog" and I did all the walking/feeding/training/poop scooping! Once we brought her home though she quickly became "our dog" as she seduced him with cuddles and cuteness ! Now he is just as smitten with her as I am and loves playing with her and finds it really hard to say no to her. Quite often he ends up watching TV from her bed on the floor because he feels too guilty to call her off the sofa . Now when he talks to people about her she is "his dog" .

Re: How tolerant is your OH?

He's pretty good, he's responsible for the arrival of most of our big pets (bunnies, cats & dogs) over the years but that's because beneath the manliness he's as much of a sucker for a sob story as I am & can't turn his back on someone who needs us
He's just as fond of the rats as the rest of the family, but he has a particular soft spot for Tau

Re: How tolerant is your OH?

As much as I moan about him, he's actually a diamond

We moan about each others hobbies and how much we both spend on then - my hobby is dogs and his is motorbikes.

BUT - at the end of the day, at least his hobby is kept in the garage and doesn't leave slobber and hair all over my clothes, dictate our lives and cost an a small fortune

He isn't particularly a doggie person - never has been and never will be - but does love our dogs, no matter how much he insists they are ''just alright''. I often sneak up on him giving one of them a cuddle

I'm really very lucky to have him, he puts up with alot from me and the dogs! He's stuck around for over 40 years, so we can't be that bad though

Re: How tolerant is your OH?

My OH is fantastic. I honestly couldn't ask for better, I only had Suki when we got together in Jan and then by May I was after my next one and I arranged to go see a pup then asked him if he'd take me and he was more than happy too..
He adores Bailey and Suki but he does try to rein me in when I think about getting another one. He has even groomed them for me.. We try to make it even, getting dogs we both like etc.
He does tell me when I got to for on my spending on them but at the same time he can be just as bad. The pups love him..

Re: How tolerant is your OH?

Mine is a star (shhhhhh don't tell him...he'll get a big head!)

He wasn't a cat person and always wanted a dog - we have 10 cats I remember the day it took me ages to convince him to have a second cat! He now loves cats and even has his favourites.

We have 2 dogs and despite him originally being a dog person I think he is more a cat person now as the dogs stress him out more

We also have the skunk, but I got her at the same time as I met him, so he never had a say. I do remember some of the comments he made when he found out I had a skunk though. Then he met her He loves her to death.

I will stress though that it is me that does ALL the work related to the animals, but I will also admit he basically pays for us to keep them all so big stars go to him
