What was your dogs original name

For those that have rescued or rehomed dogs and changed their name, what was your dogs original name, and why did you change it.

I have just looked at Cravens chip details and he was originally called Bertie ,his name was changed when he was taken in by Foxhound welfare.

So I didn't change his name, but I'm so glad it was changed,no offence to any Bertie's on here.

Re: What was your dogs original name

I got Prince as a puppy and named him myself, but changed it after around a week. I called him Sam, but it never really felt right and Prince just kept popping into my head so I changed it

Re: What was your dogs original name

I rescued my JRT as a one year old, she was called Zoe..I like different names, and dont like human names for dogs plus Zoe didnt suit her, she became Zani and that suits her down to the ground, I knew it would the second she came into our home.

Re: What was your dogs original name

My little one was found wandering the streets, stray or dumped, no one knows. They called him Sam at the dogs home, but I just felt it didn't suit him. I changed it to Jet and he took to it straight away, no problems at all.

Milo was called Pop. Short for nothing, just Pop! Didn't suit him and wanted something with two syllables

Re: What was your dogs original name

My rescued boy was called Rocky but the second kennels he was in changed it to Buddy. Glad they changed it as Rocky for a staffie, no thanks! But Buddy isn't to my liking either, however he knows it and after coming to me (his 6/7th home) I figured I would leave him with the one thing he does know

Mooky has been

Solomon (original name)

Re: What was your dogs original name

Blue was Kyte. It didn't really suit him - Kyte is a collies name plus I wanted him to have a completely fresh start, new name and everything!
