Been for a nice walk with Sammy and bumped into a lad with a gorgeous Staff pup 18 weeks old. The owner (17-18yr old lad) absolutely did not want Sammy to come near him.

The guy was afraid and his pup could sense this and started to growl at Sammy. I intervened by stroking the pup and letting it mouth my finger and stroking its head. I was really letting it Sammy's scent from my hand hehe and the growling stopped.

The guy still wouldnt let his pup near Sammy and when i said dont worry he said " you aint seen my other dog" implying that its some kinda tough mean dog. I have seen his other dog which is some kinda adult Staff cross and seems to have scars on it but im not totally sure as it may jus be the pattern on it coat.

My worry is by trying to make this little pup "hard" all they are doing is putting fear aggression into it which is honestly a real shame as the pup is gorgeous.

seems to be a chav thing. why people have to be so thick is baffeling to me.
imo there are no bad/nasty dogs its the people who have them that are idiotic uneducated owners that cause this in there dogs.

‎2yr old dark brindle and white staff was given her by someone who couldnt look after her cant keep her as i have a staff already.needs to go asap she need to gain weight been wormed and flead person who collect must bring own lead.shes just came into season too..gotta go asap FREE

I feel sorry for the dog in this scenario as it clearly wants to make new friends, both human and dogs!! Unfortunately it looks like it won't get the opportunity to . It's going to turn out nasty just because some idiot wants it to!!

Totally agree with you guys. Can just see a life of misery and aggression for this poor pup.

There should be regulations and some kinda licence to own a dog.

Unfortunately there isn't and it seems to be escalating. I hope some time in the future more checks can be made. Because I feel sorry as far too many dogs (esp Staffies) are being trained for fighting/guarding and they live a life of misery! There should be more rules out there that means the RSPCA/SSPCA can remove dogs that live in this sort of environment and rehabilitate them to be able to live in a normal society.

I also think that there should be more rules in place so that if a dog comes from this sort of environment or strays are giving more training in rescue centers.

Poor little pup

I am so glad I moved away from the area full of 'hard dogs' I caught a junkie pinching his staffy/pitbull whatever it was until it nipped him and then doing it over. He was joking to his mate that his dog would ''ave any of em others by the time 'es grown up''

I wish there was something that could be done.
